| Only 16 and Dad gets him into a 46 of his own..... |
Well we finally got started on little Brad's 46, first the 1 1/2 ton was pulled apart, and the frame pulled out
of the garage, and a nice 46 1/2 ton frame pulled in, the 1 1/2 ton cab sits nice on its new home, we used the 1 1/2 tons
radiator support, inner fenderwells and hood also. The front fenders are 1/2 ton ,one was from a GMC, and the other was from
a swap meet 1/2 ton that was parted out. The bed sides and rear fenders were also from a swap meet. The frame came from a
fellow 41-46er that sold it cheap to me, but boy is it nice with factory black still showing all over. The running boards
are 1/2 tons bought over the internet some time back. The grill is a original upper and a reproduction lower, to be painted
. The 89 donor Astro van is next on the list to be pulled appart the front suspension, engine, trans, rearend, brakes
& booster-master cyl, and steering column all will be used on this 1/2 ton.....And lilBrad wants the hood scoops, they
do look cool..... Feb-14-05
Well we got the Astro to come appart, front end assy, rear end..now we just have to blend the two units together.....16-April-05
From Little Brad...
So far I have striped down the front part of the 46 frame, and cut some off so the wheelbase is correct. Also cut the
astro front down so that it will fit. The next major task will be welding the Astro front and the 46 frame together, and set
up the engine and tranny so that the drivetrain runs smoothly. Probably after that , paint the frame and engine block and
heads black....11-july-05

Through early November-05, boxedthe Astro front ent to the orriginal, after chopping off the front of the orriginal
frame, installed the stearing gearbox, and the column. Set in the V-6 and trans, set up the tranny mount, installed the front
bumper support "Y" s, for a stock bumper, next is the exaust, driveshaft, brakes.....

Well she has been together for awhile, Bradley has been driving her as a daily driver, and even in the winter, I know,
but it is his truck and and we were all young and without money at some point of our lives...
